Your privacy is important to us. We have developed this Privacy Notice to explain how Charitable Ventures of Orange County d/b/a Jewish Addiction Awareness Network and our affiliates and related parties (“JAAN”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) may collect, use, and share information about you that we obtain when you use the JAAN website (the “Service”).
We may revise this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make changes we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after we update the Notice indicates that you accept the revised terms with respect to such continued use. We encourage you to check this page whenever you use the Service, to stay informed about our data practices.
Information You Submit. We may obtain information about you that you provide to us through the Service. This may include personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, date of birth, location, phone number, physical address, full payment account information, as well as any non-public information you may choose to disclose in the blog posts or comments you submit using the Service. Please be mindful that if you provide sensitive information through the Service, such information will be obtained by JAAN, and any information you post on public portions of the Service will be publicly available and may be accessible to other users. Exercise caution in publicly posting and in communicating with others.
Automatically Collected Data. We also may automatically collect certain information about you when you use the Service. For example, we may use certain automated tracking tools to collect your Internet protocol (IP) address, location, user type, device model and details about your use of the Service. We may associate the unique identifier assigned to your device with other information we obtain about you.
Information about your use of this Service and/or other websites or mobile applications may be collected across time, devices, and online locations for various purposes, including to associate different devices you use with each other and to deliver relevant content to you online.

We may use information we obtain about you in other ways, in which case we will notify you at the time of collection.
We may permit our agents, vendors, volunteers, consultants, service providers and others that work with us to access your information obtained through the Service to carry out work on our behalf. As permitted by applicable law, we may also share your information (1) if we are required or requested to do so by law or legal process (such as in response to a subpoena or court order or similar government or law enforcement request); (2) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, to protect property or safety, or in connection with the investigation of possible fraud or other illegal activity; or (3) as needed to enforce our policies.
We reserve the right to transfer any information we obtain through the Service in the event of a joint venture, partnership, merger, or other collaboration with another organization, or in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our organization or assets (e.g., further to a reorganization, liquidation, or any other business transaction, including negotiations of such transactions).
If you choose to submit Content for potential posting on the Service, your Content will be considered “public” and will be accessible by anyone, including JAAN. JAAN encourages you to exercise caution when making decisions about what you disclose in such public areas.
Additionally, the Service may offer you the option to send a communication to a friend or other contact. If so, we rely on you to only send to people that have given you permission to do so. The recipient’s information you provide (e.g., name, e-mail address, social media handle) will be used to facilitate the communication, but not used by JAAN for any other marketing purpose unless JAAN obtains consent from that person. Your contact information and message may be included in the communication.
The Service may include features that are designed to permit interactions that you initiate between the Service and third-party websites or services, including third-party social networks like Facebook (collectively, “Social Features”). For example, you may be able to “like” or “share” content from the Service on other websites or services.
If you use Social Features on the Service, both JAAN and the third-party services that operate those Social Features may have access to certain information about you and your use of both the Service and their service. The information we collect in connection with your use of Social Features is subject to this Privacy Notice, but the information collected by the third-party services, including information they share with us, is subject to their privacy policies. If you or we discontinue use of any third-party service, we may nevertheless retain the personally identifiable information and other data we already received. The information collected and stored by the third parties remains subject to those third parties’ privacy policies, including how they share information with us, the types of information shared, and your choices with regard to what is visible to others on their websites or services.
JAAN may use service providers for analytics services. These analytics services may use cookies and other tracking technologies to help JAAN analyze how users use the Service. Service providers may store and use information (e.g., your IP address and other usage information) for purposes such as evaluating your use of the Service and compiling statistic reports on the Service’s activity. You may exercise choices regarding the use of cookies from Google Analytics by going to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or downloading the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You may exercise choices regarding the use of cookies from Adobe Analytics by going to http://www.adobe.com/privacy/opt-out.html under the section labeled “Tell our customers not to measure your use of their web sites or tailor their online ads for you.”
The Service may contain content that is supplied by a third party, and those third parties may collect usage data and your device identifier when such content is served to you. Associated third-party services may also be available via the Service. We are not responsible for the data collection and privacy practices employed by such third parties or their services and they may themselves be collecting data from you and may be sharing it with us and/or others. These third parties and their services may also associate their tracking technologies with you, track you across sites, apps, devices and time, serve you their own ads, and may or may not have their own published privacy policies.
The Service may include links to non-JAAN websites or online services for your convenience and information. These third-party websites may have their own privacy policies or notices, which we encourage our users to review. This Privacy Notice applies solely to information collected by us directly through the Service. JAAN is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any linked websites that we do not control.
Commercial and Solicitation Communications. If you no longer wish to receive commercial or solicitation emails from JAAN, please send an email to info@jaanetwork.org or follow the unsubscribe instructions included in the emails. Please note that even if you opt-out of receiving commercial and solicitation emails from us, we may continue to send you transactional and informational emails relating to our programs, your inquiries, or transactions or use of our Service, such as administrative and service announcements. These messages may be unaffected if you choose to opt-out from receiving commercial and solicitation communications from us.
You can prevent further collection of information via the Service by ceasing interaction with the Service.
You may request removal of your Content submissions from public availability on the Service by contacting JAAN through any methods included in the Contact Us section at the end of these Terms, detailing where the Content or information is posted and attesting that it is your Content. JAAN will then make reasonable good faith efforts to remove the post from prospective public view or anonymize it so the you cannot be individually identified. This removal process cannot ensure complete or comprehensive removal. For instance, third-parties may have republished or archived content by search engines and others that JAAN does not control. If you wish to update, correct, or delete information you have provided through the Service, you may make a request by contacting info@jaanetwork.org. JAAN will then make reasonable good faith efforts to accommodate your request subject to our need to maintain information for legal or business purposes and copies stored in backup in normal course of practice.
Do Not Track. Your settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit. Note, however, there is no consensus among industry participants as to what “Do Not Track” means in this context. We currently do not alter our practices when we receive a “Do Not Track” signal from a visitor using the Service. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” you can visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com, but we are is not responsible for the completeness or accuracy of this third party information.
The Service is not intended for, nor targeted to, children under 13, and we do not knowingly or intentionally collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have received information directly from a child who is under the age of 13, we will delete the information in accordance with applicable law.
If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without his/her consent, then he or she should contact us at the contact information provided below.
Any California residents under the age of 18 who posted content or information on the Service, can request removal by contacting JAAN as set forth in the prior section.
JAAN implements reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to help us protect your personally identifiable information collected through the Service. Even with our safeguards in place, however, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed secure. Accordingly, we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of information you transmit to us.
As set forth in our Terms of Use, the Service is intended for use in the United States. If you happen to be using the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and stored on our servers in the United States. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer and processing of your personal data in the United States as described in this Privacy Notice. Please be aware that the data protection laws and regulations applicable to your personal data transferred to the United States may be different from the laws in your country of residence.
